Privacy Policy

Effective June 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Unit09 ("Unit09", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the websites, applications, and services we operate, including the Focus and ARIS platforms (collectively, the "Service"). We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy laws.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, work email, password, company, and role when you register or are invited to the Service.
  • Shipment and quote data: origin and destination, item descriptions, weights and dimensions, and related logistics details you enter to request carrier quotes.
  • Communications: messages, support requests, and emails you exchange through or with the Service.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the Service.
  • Cookies: we use strictly necessary cookies (such as your authentication session) and limited analytics to keep you signed in and improve the Service.

Business contact data

Some of our products help logistics businesses identify and reach potential customers. For this purpose we process professional, business-context contact information about individuals in their commercial capacity (for example, name, work email, job title, employer, and public LinkedIn profile), sourced from public records, the companies' own websites, and reputable data providers. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information for this purpose.

2. How We Use Information

  • to provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
  • to route quote requests to the carriers and contacts you designate and return results to you;
  • to communicate with you about your account, support, and Service updates;
  • to provide business prospecting features to our customers, where permitted by law; and
  • to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as needed:

  • Carriers and recipients you designate: to obtain quotes and complete shipments you request.
  • Service providers: hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and analytics vendors that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@unit09.app.

If your business contact information appears in our prospecting database and you want it removed, you can submit a free, no-account-required request through our data removal form. We process every removal request within 30 days (usually immediately), and once removed we suppress the identifier so it is not re-added from any of our sources.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. Suppression records used to honor removal requests are retained as long as necessary to keep your information out of our database.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and tenant isolation. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Transfers

We are based in Canada and may process and store information in Canada and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
